Your Feet Are Your Foundation. Is Yours Stable?

Understand the long-term consequences of flat feet (overpronation) and discover the modern solutions available to restore stability and prevent pain.

What Are Flat Feet?

Flat feet, medically known as pes planus, is a condition where the arches on the inside of your feet are flattened, allowing the entire sole of your foot to touch the floor when you stand up. While some people have flat feet and experience no problems, for many, it leads to a biomechanical issue called overpronation.

Overpronation is when your ankle rolls too far downward and inward with each step. This instability can create a chain reaction of misalignment and stress that travels up your body, causing a wide range of issues.

How Flat Feet Can Affect Your Entire Body

  • Foot Pain: Chronic arch strain, plantar fasciitis (heel pain), and bunions are common.
  • Ankle Pain: The ankle is forced into an unstable position, straining ligaments.
  • Knee Pain: Overpronation causes the lower leg to rotate inward, which can lead to knee pain and patellofemoral syndrome.
  • Hip & Lower Back Pain: The misalignment at the foundation can tilt the pelvis and lead to chronic hip and lower back pain.

Our Diagnostic Approach: Precision Matters

We use advanced diagnostic tools to go beyond a simple visual assessment:

  1. Digital Arch Scanning: We create a precise digital map of your foot's arch and pressure points to quantify the degree of collapse.
  2. Gait Analysis: We observe you walking and running to analyze your biomechanics and see how your feet, ankles, and legs move in motion.

Treatment Options for Flat Feet

Treatment is focused on correcting the underlying biomechanical issue to provide support and relieve pain.

  • Supportive Footwear: We provide guidance on selecting shoes with good arch support and stability features.
  • Targeted Exercises: Strengthening exercises for the muscles in your feet and lower legs can help improve stability.
  • Custom Orthotics: For many, custom-molded orthotics are the most effective solution. These medical devices are designed from a precise scan of your feet to correct overpronation, support your arch, and realign your entire kinetic chain.

Stop the Chain Reaction of Pain

Don't let unstable feet compromise your body's performance and comfort. A proper evaluation can be the first step to resolving pain you didn't even know was connected to your feet.
