That Stabbing Morning Heel Pain? Let's Solve it For Good.

Heel pain is one of the most common foot complaints. Our specialist approach focuses on accurately diagnosing the cause—most often Plantar Fasciitis—and implementing a plan that provides lasting relief.

What is Plantar Fasciitis?

Plantar Fasciitis is the inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick, web-like ligament that connects your heel to the front of your foot. It acts as a shock absorber, supporting the arch of your foot.

When this ligament is over-stretched or over-used, tiny tears can occur, leading to inflammation and pain. The classic symptom is a sharp, stabbing pain in the bottom of your heel, which is often most severe with the first few steps after waking up or after long periods of rest.

What Causes Plantar Fasciitis?

The strain on the plantar fascia can be caused by a number of factors, and often it's a combination of them:

  • Foot Mechanics: Having flat feet (overpronation) or high arches can affect the way weight is distributed, putting added stress on the plantar fascia.
  • Occupation: Jobs that keep you on your feet for long hours on hard surfaces.
  • Exercise: A sudden increase in the intensity or duration of exercise, especially running.
  • Footwear: Wearing shoes with poor arch support or cushioning.
  • Weight: Being overweight puts extra stress on your plantar fascia.

Our Diagnostic & Treatment Process

Lasting relief requires treating the cause, not just the symptom. Our process includes:

  1. Biomechanical Assessment: Dr. Gautam will analyze your gait and foot structure to identify any underlying mechanical issues like overpronation.
  2. Targeted Stretching & Icing: We'll provide a specific regimen of stretches for the plantar fascia and calf muscles, which is crucial for recovery.
  3. Footwear Counseling: We advise you on the best types of supportive footwear for your foot type and lifestyle.
  4. Orthotic Therapy: In many cases, a custom or specialized orthotic is recommended to correct foot mechanics, support the arch, and reduce strain on the ligament, providing both immediate relief and long-term prevention.

Take Your First Pain-Free Step

You don't have to live with heel pain. A proper diagnosis is the key to an effective treatment plan that gets you back to your daily activities without pain.
